Ferrari put together the 458 Italia China Edition to commemorate 20 years in China. Ferrari’s first sale inChinawas a 348 TS in 1992. Quite proud of the feat, Ferrari forked over around $12,600 to stage a promotional event on top of the 600 year old, Ming dynasty era city wall in the old capital of imperial China, Nanjing.

An audience which included state television cameras an employee from a local dealership supposedly jumped behind the wheel of the special edition 458 without clearance and cranked out a smoky donut show.

Quite a way to garner some attention for the 458 ItaliaChinaEdition, but there’s a bit of a problem. City cleaners haven’t been able to remove the skid marks from the ancient wall which once protected the city from invading hordes.

Ferrari S.p.A commented on the stunt and claimed it was not planned and expressed “deep regret” for the “accident.”

Seen the Avengers? Tony Stark rocked around in this futuristic Acura, but what is it?

Carscoop pointed out that in some press pictures (the gallery below) of Tony Stark’s supercar car in the Avengers, the odometer read 252,149 miles. Combine that with the obvious fact that the steering wheel was from the original NSX and Acura released this, the 2013 Acura NSX.

Could the odometer be correct? How much of what you see is just a shell? Could Acura already be showing off the 201x? Acura NSX Spyder/Roadster/Convertible? Has an original NSX chassis really covered over 250,000 miles?

Well… whatever it is, it may just be a shell but we kind of like it.

The Gran Turismo Events at the Nurburgring had saw an impressive flyby from a Koenigsegg Agera R. The Swedish super car ripped past at 402 kph or 250 mph.

Pagani is an interesting company and in many aspects reeling in the former air Lamborghini gnarled up in the 80′s with brash aesthetics and deadly power. With less than 60 employees to Lamborghini’s 800, Pagani Automobile S.p.a with Horacio Pagani at the helm, have struck a chord with pimply school boys and some of the wealthiest/powerful men in the world, all while producing just one model.

Most don’t know the Zonda made it’s first debut in 1999, the same year that Lamborghini was showing off the the face-lift it gave to the Diablo SV and the unveiled the VT. That means that the Zonda has a longer run going than even the drawn out retirement of the Murcielago.

Why might Pagani and Lamborghini be likened so often? The Zonda is the only model Pagani has produced since its inception, which actually began taking shape in the late 80′s by Horacio’s company Pagani Composite Research; after he managed composites for Lamborghini and assisted with the 25th Anniversary Countach, LM002, the P140 design concept, and the Diablo.  Aha!

Despite initial development coming in the 80′s, The first Zonda, the C12 did not make its debut until 1999. 13 years past is a lot of time to fill with a single model and Pagani has done just that, with nine model variations, two special editions, a race-spec and currently seven, soon to be eight one-offs.

As I’ve come to understand it, it’s not so much Pagani milking the last drops from the Zonda, as it is a young supercar builder, hungry to create road monsters and a clientele waving seven figures under their nose for a taste of the Zonda before she hangs up her gloves.

As of writing this, the most recent Zonda is the 760 RS, which will be shortly followed by the 760 LH, which are initials of current a Formula 1 driver and the next heavy hitter ready to shell out $2,6000,000 for one.

Everything can happen for enough money. Even companies like Ferrari manufacture more “limited” run models than they claim and produce one-offs based on current chassis not because they want to, but they have people ready to lay down some serious coin for them to do so and Ferrari just has the clout to be quiet about it.

There is novels to speak on the essence of a Ferrari but there is something about a Lamborghini that tickles my immaturity, all while Pagani seems to laugh out loud at each of them and power on their own merry little way. I’m excited to see where Pagani continues and while I still have reservations on the Huayra, I’m anxious to see the power number she might tantalize with in 2025.

Back in March someone broke in to the British Motor Car Distributors dealership in San Francisco and drove off with Guy Fieri’s 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. The car was spotted a few times on closed-circuit TVs, which included the thief joy riding across theGolden Gate Bridge.

It wasn’t until the April 29^th when investigators served a search warrant on a storage unit in Port Richmond which in connection with a 17-year old from San Rafael. Witnesses linked this minor with a shooting which occurred on April 13^th.

The teen has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest and having a loaded firearm.

When they opened up the storage unit they found Fieri’s bright yellow Gallardo spyder along with a motorcycle and some other items. Fieri made a statement, “I would like to thank the Marin County Sheriff’s Office and the Mill Valley Police Department for their hard work and effort in the recovery of my car. I’m glad we can put this behind us, and feel better knowing that justice is being served.”

There is a good chance you’ve seen pictures and heard about a rare Ferrari Enzo sadly resting in an impound lot in Dubai while sandstorms have their way with the legendary Rosso Corsa paint.

Countless numbers of individuals and businesses from Russia to the United Stats have approached Dubai Police officials in an attempt to pick up the dusty gem. There have been rumors circulating that the Dubai Police would be auctioning off the million dollar Ferrari. Not so claims the Dubai Police Department, according to Emirates 24/7.

9 highline automobiles, including this Enzo have been seized as evidence in an array of crimes and are not for sale. Captain Khalid Al Kamali claims that seven of the cars have been stolen from their rightful owners in the UAE and two others from elsewhere.

“The one Ferrari Enzo and the another regular Ferrari are required by Interpol. So, the nine cars are not for sale.”

Khalid said that the cars on Interpol notice are most often stolen from another country. “They shall not be disposed of, except in accordance with procedures specified in coordination between the real owner of the car, Interpol and the Interior Ministry in the UAE.”

“We have received many calls from traders – Britons, Americans, Russians and Indians want to buy the Ferrari Enzo, worth about a $1 million.”

While the Dubai Police impound houses roughly 35 luxury cars, nine of them, including the Ferrari Enzo are not for sale because of theft reports.

Sources claim that this particular Enzo was abandoned by a British citizen who had leased the Ferrari and after amassing traffic fines and a stack of unpaid lease payments fled the country in August of 2011, leaving the million dollar sports car to bake in the Dubai sun.

While still officially a concept, the Bugatti Galiebier is a shift for Bugatti from the world record setting Veyron

Succeeding the Bugatti Veyron will always be a difficult task for Bugatti engineers. The Veyron has been described as an engineering pinnacle by most who have driven it. Being the fastest car in the world, the only way to build something better would be either to make it faster or to move market segment. The later is exactly the intention Bugatti formed with the Bugatti Galibier Concept.

The editorial director and founder of EVO, Harry Metcalfe makes a visit to the Pagani factory in Italy where he chats about and drives the 763 bhp Zonda 760 RS.
